Professional Profile

Dr. Brij Lal Attri obtained his B.Sc. (Agriculture) and M.Sc. (Horticulture) from HPKV, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, and UHF, Solan, in 1987 and 1990, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, in 1994.

He joined the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) as Scientist (Horticulture) at ICAR-Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI), Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, in 1995 and worked there until March 2002. In March 2002, he joined ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (CIWA), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, as Senior Scientist (Horticulture), serving until November 2008.

In November 2008, he joined ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Regional Station (CITH-RS), Mukteshwar, Nainital, Uttarakhand, as Principal Scientist (Horticulture). He served as Scientist-in-Charge of the station until February 2016.

He joined ICAR–Directorate of Mushroom Research, Chambaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on 12 February 2016. He assumed charge as Director (Acting) with effect from 1 November 2025 (afternoon), as stated on the institute’s existing page.
