ICAR–Directorate of Mushroom Research, Solan maintains a repository of edible and non-edible mushroom germplasm. Cultures are regularly maintained by sub-culturing at approximately 4°C and in liquid paraffin.
Cultures are supplied to entrepreneurs and research and development organisations, subject to availability and the Institute's procedures.
The live Culture Bank page lists the standard price as ₹2,500 for one culture (two tubes). This price excludes Cordyceps militaris and the Shiitake 388 culture, which are supplied with the associated licensing technology and have separate rates.
Before payment, please confirm current availability, rates, licensing terms and payment instructions with the Institute. Cultures are dispatched by Speed Post.
Email Culture Bank enquiry Contact detailsDMR also accepts safe deposition of mushroom cultures in the DMR Gene Bank. The depositor should provide the source of the cultures and the relevant details. An accession number is then provided by the Institute.
