Mandate of ICAR-DMR
The mandate of the ICAR–Directorate of Mushroom Research is to advance mushroom science, conserve and develop mushroom germplasm, coordinate location-specific research, and transfer technologies to growers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
Mission-oriented and innovative research
To conduct mission-oriented and innovative research on all aspects of mushrooms.
Academic excellence and germplasm repository
To act as a centre of academic excellence and repository of mushroom germplasm and know-how.
Coordinated, location-specific research
To coordinate network research on location-specific problems to achieve higher production and increased productivity.
Human resource development and technology transfer
To promote human resource development and transfer of technology, providing technical support to the mushroom industry and rural communities through training to contribute to poverty alleviation.
Technical guidance
To provide technical guidance in mushroom research and development.
